“In the 2024 harvest, there was the opportunity and the pleasure of starting tests on some of our Barroca da Malhada wines using Chestwine®, an innovative product used as an alternative to sulfites. The product developed by Tree Flowers Solutions represents the possibility of a significant evolution in the production of low-intervention wines, allowing the creation of wines with zero added sulfites, one of the main challenges in sustainable and organic winemaking. The results so far have been very satisfying, with the support, monitoring and assistance of the Tree Flowers Solutions team. The expectation is to soon have the Barroca da Malhada wines ready to present.”
“Chestwine® began to be used to test an innovative solution in wine production, and the results have been positive. The wine maintains its original characteristics, enhancing fruity flavours and preserving its original colour.”
“The best-selling wine, produced from Tempranillo red grapes, was entirely vinified with Chestwine®. The result was wines that are more direct and fruit-driven, despite the very challenging sanitary and harvest conditions in 2024. Excellent results and no oxidation of the wine.”
"The use of Chestwine® in the Quinta Ribeiro da Vila red wine during the 2025 harvest preserved the organoleptic characteristics, maintaining the aromas and native flavors of the grape varieties used in vinification."
"As part of our strategy to produce more natural wines, in 2024 we began using Chestwine® instead of traditional sulfites. It has been an interesting experience across 3 different batches, which we intend to continue to continue developing."
"During the 2025 harvest, Chestwine® was used for the first time in the vinification of one Trás-os-Montes` most iconic grape varieties. The results so far reveal a wine with greater aromatic intensity and definition, enhanced purity, and a brighter, more expressive colour."
"During the 2025 harvest, we tested Chestwine® in two twin vats of Côtes-du-Rhône red wine: one using the tannin, the other following the usual SO₂ additions. The wine with Chestwine® showed a more open profile, with a more direct and expressive fruit character."
"This product helps preserve the freshness and fruity character of our wines, while maintaining structure, with no SO₂ added."
“The trial is very encouraging. Chestwine® delivered a more structured and more complex wine profile. The trial could be repeated and expanded, particularly to other types of wine."
"Our 2024 trial comparing SO2 and Chestwine® proved transformative. Wines made exclusively with Chestwine® showed greater purity, clarity, and a more natural aromatic profile, truly faithful to their origin. In 2025, this shift to chestnut flower not only elevated quality but also boosted our quality production”.

"Chestwine® had practically no effect on the organoleptic characteristics of the product. In fact, the quality, the aromas and flavors, were enhanced and preserved, whereas sulfites would have slightly veiled and closed them."
